Questions
Before you buy or build.
Is a battery included?
No. Lithium batteries can’t ship by air. Any protected 3.7 V 18650 cell fits.
How long does it run?
About 4 hours at medium speed, and it runs from USB-C while charging.
Is it hard to solder?
It takes patience more than skill. The printed jig holds every rod in place.
Troubleshooting
Something not working? Start with these.
One blade doesn’t light
The filament is probably reversed. Unsolder it and turn it around.
The blades wobble
The rotor tube isn’t square to the shaft. Reheat the hub joint and straighten it.
The motor hums but doesn’t turn
Turn the speed knob up; the motor needs a little power to start.
